Post Passing The Baton....
After a lot of deliberation I've decided that I'm currently not able to focus on the Coupe project as I would like and rather than let it languish I've decided to sell it on. The company that has purchased the project is D H Engineering services run by Derek Hambly. Many of you will have seen Derek's thread detailing the excellent job he's making of his Heerey rebuild. Derek is a time-served GTM guy having owned a 10" wheel car back in the day. He also has a major advantage in that he runs a fully equipped engineering workshop so should be able to make major progress in supplying parts. He also has some interesting ideas as to how the project can be re-rejuvenated.

I'd like to thank all of the people who've provided encouragement, ideas, technical knowledge and support -- also those people who bought parts and the suppliers involved.

Passing on the project doesn't mean I'm quitting the scene -- I've still got the white coupe to rebuild, a Heerey 1.3 rebuild to start, the Primo Coupe and the Libra on the fleet. Hopefully I'll still be able contribute to threads on the site and possibly even attend a few more events.

All that remains is to wish Derek success with the project in the future -- I'm sure he'll post soon with his contact details and outline some of his ideas.

Steve

I had heard a rumour

Sorry to hear you ended up having to make this decision but as you say hopefully it will take the project to the next step.

Hi All,
I have indeed purchased the Coupe Project from Steve.
Have yet to sort out all that I have bought!
I rent space in a sheet metal workshop and thus am in a position to supply complete floor pans ex-stock and will also be able to offer cut and folded replacement panels.
At the moment I have drawings for all the panels for the 13" wheel cars and the Heerey 1.3 model.
In 1976 I bought my first GTM and almost remember how the rear floor pan was done so should also be able to supply parts for the old cars with a bit of help.
I have the full set of moulds for the 13" wheel cars.
I also have a reasonably well equipped machine shop.
Soon I hope to set up a web site with full contact details and price list etc.

Not a decision taken lightly -- quite a wrench if I'm honest BUT as per the above Derek is in a position to hit the ground running and has the facilities, ideas and energy to make a better job of the project.

I'll still probably interfere on the technical side and if I'm making enough progress I'll start a re-build thread for the white car.

Hi Derek,
How is the assembly of info going? I am getting on quite well with my Solidworks model, just have the front end to do, which is the tricky bit!
Good luck and I look forward to hearing what your plans are.
Simon
