Did you make your own loom? :D

No I didn't make it, but every time I touch it it still seems to have more smoke built up inside the plastic sleeving
It just keeps coming out everywhere,

How does it get in :?:

Can't You take it in to work and get someone to look at it ? :P

It's not like the old days, your given so much work and so little time to do it in that you can't leave your work area, and nobody in any of the other departments want to help out as they don't have time either

Are the tail brackets on the rear subframe needed for anything? Because the previous owner has cut them off.

Only if you want to use them to mount a silencer, that is what I used them for on my old old old setup

As West says some people use them to mount the exhaust although I prefer to attach it to the back of the engine so it all moves together. Also some rear facing RH gearbox steady bars mount to the bolt holes so avoid them -- other steady bars are available.

Preparation on the tub is going well, alongside building the engine and subframes. The subframes and compomotive cx wheels have been powder coated in black, which you can see below, in my opinion they look pretty cool. We are currently working on fitting the pedal box, which should be completed soon. :D

After a struggle the engine is in the subframe, and now onto the car. Pictures will be posted soon. But while we were fitting it we noticed that the clutch slave cylinder return spring hits the chassis, so we had to remove it. Is this normal? And is there a different way to attach the spring?

I remember having a similar issue on mine when I was A series powered. I ended up profiling the arm around the pin to increase clearance. I did get a return spring fitted too.

Also think some careful positioning of the engine on the steady bars helped and having the engine fairly stiff made sure it never caught.

The early Cox build recommended the clutch arm should be bent a little to give a clearance with the more bulky early sheet metal chassis, cant remember how much but it was shown in the CCC GTM build project.

Lovely looking coupe you have got there and your making a good job of the restoration, keep up the good work and don't let small problems dampen your enthusiasm :D :D

Rear subframe along with engine and hubs are now fitted onto the chassis. Steering locking kit and handbrake kit also fitted, courtesy of Alan at Rossabitz.
Front subframe hasn't been put in yet so the old wheels are counterbalancing the weight of the engine. :D
