Thanks for that. My K3 was registered in '84 before IVA/SVA so maybe will be ok?

Interesting fact based on the knowledge that the K series wasn't introduced until 1988

I'm not sure what happened there phaeton but I checked the documents and the vin tag this afternoon and it all matches. It's on a B plate too which is 1984. I have all the build documents and complete history for the car so I'm going to go through it all this evening.

The rear coilover brackets arrived on Friday so yesterday I set about getting them on the car. One thing I noticed is that the top right bolt hole is missing. This is because the fabricated location for the subframe support bar covers the bolt hole. There's a lot going on with this bracket and I didn't feel happy not having a fixing at this corner. I don't know what others do but I even considered welding the bracket to the subframe. Anyhow I decided to drill out the pilot hole that's already in the bracket and drill down the side of the support bar mounting block and weld a stud in.

So that's rear coilover brackets fitted. Just the offside subframe support to refit. Brake pipes to the front flexi hoses need making up and the pads will be here tomorrow then I can get the braking system refilled and bled. I've removed the long servo hose to the inlet manifold and I'm going to use an electric vac pump mounted at the front.

Are the bracket from Peeps or is there another source now?

They’re Peeps brackets. I’m very grateful to Peter for doing another run of these brackets as demand must surely be slowing down. Just waiting for the springs and coilovers now :D

Hi Paul, yes I’m going with nine inch springs front and back. I’ve seen plenty of pics of other members cars using eight inch springs and the bottom of the spring is always quite away up the shocker. The chap I spoke to at Larkspeed said he’d check with Gaz just to be sure and I’ve not heard anything back so I guess it’s all ok. It’s all good fun anyway and I have an angle grinder if they need a bit lopping off lol.

I've had to modify the inner wings to accommodate the coilover upper mounting.

Hi Phaeton,

He might be away but he will reply eventually. I’m still waiting for instructions so I can pay him for my brackets.

Ok, I received a message from Gaz today telling me my coilovers and springs will be delivered at 11 tomorrow. I'll be picking them up on my way home from work and going straight to my workshop :D

Coilovers and springs are here but because I ordered 9" springs I can't the top bolt in without compressing the spring a couple of centimetres. My spring compressors are no good for these tight coils so I decided to try and make something. I made two plate which are slotted and twisted slightly so they fit between the coils and these are joined with two long bolts which when tightened compress the spring. It does work but one side fouls on the long bolt that holds the subframe support tube and the other side fouls on the coilover bracket but I'm getting there. I'm going to modify the plates slightly with the angle grinder to get some more clearance. Also in the first pic you can see I had to grind the arm down because it fouled the bottom of the coilover. Apologies for the poor iPhone pics!
