Post Hydragas or Hydroelastic suspension pump
I have searched for posts on Hydragas or Hydroelastic suspension pumps, none found.

Has anyone got any experience using one of these, especially on a K3?

I'm guessing I just need some fluid and I'm all set.

I wish I'd seen that before I bought (and sold again) the expensive one I got.

I found I had to have 3 or 4 goes to get it correct - perhaps that's My impatience

Malcolm, what fluid did you use and where did you get it from?

Not sure what it was, but they (http://www.ukmgparts.com/) are MG specialists

I got one of these pumps, they are cheap and require a lot of pumping.

You can get Hydroelastic fluid from most good motor spares shop and few rubbish ones!

Would you say that the effort is worth it or better just to pay the local garage £30?

Depends how often you want to play with ride hight(s) and all the things that change at the same time :)

At that price let them do it BUT where I am the cheapest is £60 and a couple charge more PLUS add if you use a lot of fluid, as I have the Rossa and an MGF I think I will do the extra pumping and buy one of these things.

Will look in at a few of the local parts shops for the fluid to see if it is easily got.

Cheers.

According to the supplier of the pump it is a mix of anti-freeze and water and the recipe comes with the pump!

I'd be wary of using a water mix, surely this could lead to corrosion of the system.

Doesn't modern day antifreeze have additives to stop corrosion? I'll try to get the correct fluid but if not then antifreeze it is. Thanks for that and sorry for hijacking your thread.

Post Re: Hydragas or Hydroelastic suspension pump
I got my car pumped up 5mm yesterday (to match the build manuals 110mm height spec) and the guys in the garage used a 20 year old pump which looked knackered but worked OK. So my feeling on these pumps now is;

- They are good value at this price
- The fluid is still readily available
- The pumping was dead easy, just like doing tyre pressures

So there's no magic here, just buy a pump, put in the fluid and away you go.

Easy.
