Post Coilovers
Seems that I have two leaking front coilovers and a weeping rear one.
I currently have gaz shocks what would be the best new units to go for and who from.
Thanks Matty

If you were happy with them before, why not have them rebuilt. Should be cheaper than buying new ones.

They have seen better days and have previously had the rear one that is weeping rebuilt by gaz (did not end up been that cheap), sure people do not rate the gaz dampers.
Do you still have your avos Bob, did you only change them as they where always leaking.

I threw the rears away after about 18k as they had run out of oil [up side down], the fronts have been out on loan for the last couple of years :?: + they have 1.9'' springs rather than 2.25''s.

Been ringing around today Protech can no longer supply the rear dampers, Avo would have to make some up with a 6 week delivery time.No response from Westfield and could not contact Gaz although I have just found out I was ringing there fax machine
Will give gaz a call tomorrow for price for new and rebuild.

I have spoken to protech this morning this morning about my front ones as I can only get then to fit upside down so have ordered 55mm top eyes to replace the standard 32mm ones this should solve problem but will reduce travel in compression by 22mm at same ride height. while on phone I asked about rears he said he can still make then but would need a minimum order of five sets I know another libra owner who also has problem with gaz so it maybe possible if we can find enough others in club interested.or maybe you could try to persuade him to reduce min order good luck

Post Re: Coilovers
I have now had a change of plan since speaking to another libra owner with leaking gaz front shock between us we have worked out gaz will fit the right way up with clearance on the mtg bracket the top mounting is the same dimension as the protech one 32mm but the difference seems to be in the slotted spring mounting which has a steeper angle which we think moves the top of the spring 7mm lower which is enough to give clearance without the the need to grind anything down so the plan is to try fitting the protech shocks with standard 32mm to mountings but with gaz spring mtgs I have ordered I pair from gaz and should have then in the next few days if this works it will only reduce piston travel in compression by 7mm rather than 22mm with the longer top mtgs I was going to fit will let you you know if it works as soon as I get the parts to try.

Hi Matty and Mark,
I understand that Protec are prepared to produce rear coilovers for the Libra if they can get a minimum order of 5 sets. If you are still interested Matty, I will have the second set so we just want 3 more people and we can give Protec an order. Is anyone interested?
