wide photos
Can anyone tell me how to reduce the width of photos which are posted on the forum. I have to scroll across or get a 42" monitor !

Try changing you screen resolution to a higher one, that will help a little. thats all you can do really, that is one reason it is asked for people to be senible when posting picstures, 640x480 is sensible on size both on screen and in memory especially if loaded directly to the board.

Right click the picture "save as" - then use a program of Your choice to open the saved picture ?

If you use photobucket as your photo hosting program it has an editing feature which allows you to resize the photos for forums or emails.
