Post Coupe seats
Hi
At present I have a fairly old set of highback vinyl seats in my coupe, as plan to do a bit of hillclimbing in it I would like to change the driver’s seat or both to something with a bit more support.
Can anyone recommend a brand/model of seat that will fit the coupes limited size.

Paul

My coupe has a Kirkey race seat in it, I guess it depends how tall you are as to how much room you have. I am 6' tall

The seat gives very good support as you can see, well except that my grand daughter does not fit it too well!

Hi David
I did see those at the Autosport show but I wasn't shure about regs on seats, I think I will keep my eye on ebay and see what turns up
Is your coupe mini or Honda driven?

It has a Honda D16 A9 engine in absolutely standard condition.
Honda state I think 130 bhp - when new.

I'm not sure but for hillclimbing I think you'll need FIA appoved seats -- best to check the event regs/MSA Blue Book -- something like a Corbeau Forza is there FIA approvals start.

For hillclimbing and sprints, there is no requirement for FIA anything, road, modified or even racing car classes.

There are regulations for the belts (but not the FIA dating), Cages (but not road going) flame proof overalls and Helmets; but noe of these are the "FIA" rules. No specific requirements for seats or fuel tanks etc.

for those wanting to check the "Blue book" is available online http://www.msauk.org/site/cms/contentvi ... ticle=1101

I've got Corbeau Forza Sport in my coupe but they are about as tight as you can get, they will not fit with runners as they touch the door frame but I have made up sub frames for my car out of inch flat and bolted them direct to the floor.

In terms of sprinting there appears to be no standard if you are running in road registered class which I will be providing they are secure. I have a standard roll bar fitted and the harnesses bolted through the floor directly behind the seats (not ideal) but running over a bar bolted between the top three point belt mounts.

Hope this helps

Think I paid £120 for the pair I have

My belts are dated and they expire at the end of this year. Are you saying that for sprints/hillclimbs they will not need replacing? I must read the blue book!

Does not appear that you need to replace them according to the blue book providing they are in a good condition.
