Libra Ride Height and suspension settings
Hi all,
After quite a long time away from the group and the southern meet, I thought I'd pay you all a little visit. How is everyone?
Now I after what I have searched in the forum on ride heights and general suspension settings I know I'm probably going to open a huge can of worms.
My Libra has been off the road for about 18 months and I have only just got it back on the road. However, I noticed this weekend that it seems to sit very low to the ground compared to what I remember setting it to. So here's a quick run down of the setup of the car.
FrontGaz Shocks with damper setting to 10 clicks from hard (i think, will check later)
Not sure of the poundage of the springs, but if anyone remembers what they were in 2003 just prior to RDM buy out, then that's them!
Tyre/wheel size: 215/45/16
Tyre Pressures - 16 Psi
Ride height set to original book setting of 4"
RearGaz Shocks with damper setting to 10 clicks from hard (also unsure on this but will check later)
Again, springs are those that came with the kit in 2003
Tyre/wheel size: 215/45/16
Tyre Pressures - 18 PSi
Ride height the same as front 4"
Trailing arms are original ball joint type.
Now I know that with use of the car (13000 mile on the clock) the springs will have compressed slightly, hence this is why it looks a bit lower than I remember.
What I'd like to know is, is there a setting that everyone starts from, before they fine tune it for they're own comfort? as I have noticed a change in the front wheel size's to be slightly smaller in width than previously when all four wheel were the same size.
Hope someone can point me in the general right direction,
Thanks,
Neil F.
