I thought it would be nice and easy to fit the handbrake cables. nope apart from half the rubber boot being missing on one of the ones that I took off they had a spacer on them which looks like it should not be there

I got a new throttle cable from an mgf and they are a bit longer than the metro one. so I made a new bracket for the throttle body

Image Image Image

I have put the two doors back together but have not put them back on the car I think they might get in the way when I fit the carpets and trim to the

I have started to put the trim in the car

Image

I have gone with black trim for the dash I hope this will not reflect the sun

Image

I went with some cream roof lining to see if this would lighten up the inside of the car

Image

the black and red looks good in the car

I have started to make a front splitter for the car. I got some Universal Wing style front corner splitters from eBay
but did not like the look of just the corners.

Image

so I made a wooden profile for the middle and covered it with fiberglass

Image

I have joined the three parts together and there is a lot more work is needed on them

Image

I have fitted the front splitter and I think it will look ok. but the front grill was sprayed with some Santin black paint but it has come out very shiny

Image

the front spitter is all done and painted back and looks ok but I sprayed the front grill was painted red and a don't like it I wish a had left it black

Image

I had a lot of problems with the black paint I think the red and back did not mix the black paint keeps going funny.
I will let it go hard and at some point redo the black

Nice job on the splitter. That's exactly how the originals came about!

Hi Paul,
If you are still after seats, if these are as good as they look they're a bit of a bargain for recliners.
