 steering rack
Hi guys Ive juat started my build of my early coupe., I have taken the track rod ends off and there was only on about 4 turns on both sides. I dont no what the rack is off but i dont think they are on the thread enough. Any help please.

You can get long track rod ends!

I think Vizard said Spitfire ones are longer or you can get another pair of half nuts, screw them on the rack or a bolt with the track rod ends and carefully weld the nuts to the track rod ends (i'm pretty sure that was Vizards idea too  ) The former sounds much safer if you're in any doubt at all. Which ever way you go has got to be safer than your currant set-up. Negative camber bottom arms help to put the car in this situation.

Im sure there is a cooper s version that has a longer section that threaded and is ideal

Neil Not aware of one Neil. The Triumph ones are definitely available - cheaper than Mini ones at my local factor as well !

Truimph Spitfire mk1-4 - from 1962 to 1980 Part number GSJ158
Are what you are looking for, thats what I fitted. Just make sure to get Quinton Hazell ones, the "pattern" part one I had originally fitted, lasted less than a year / 3000 miles.
