Post Rose Joints
On my track coupe the steering tie arms on the back of the car are fitted with a mini? track rod ends at each of end the tie bar on both sides of the car.
I want to replace the inner track rod end on each side of the car with a rose joint that will fit on the tie rod thread.

Can anybody suggest a supplier of good quality rose joints that will fit the bill please?

Regards

David

I got mine from Mcgill Motorsports but go for their premium quality ones rather than the cheapest ones.

Good quality and go for seals or boots if you want them to last. (Rose joint is a trade name and they sometimes get sniffy if you refer to them generically.)

You'll need a left and right hand thread inserts http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330480862525&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT And tube to suit.

Thought about it myself, seeing the lefthand thread ordinary ball joint is hard to find and not cheap.

1/2 UNF

I got some from rallydesign last and they have been long lasting, I have a mileage chart for replacing things such as these, Mcgill ones seem of good quality I have some but not ran them yet.

I was rather hoping to get female threaded rose joints to screw on to the steering tie bars I already have - is this possible?

Yes they exsist, As I Modified my car to run Rod ends on the inner pickups, LH thread 1/2 female are avaiable, they do tend to cost more than Males. Hence my new Suspension I have designed to use males as much as possible and moving towards a twin wishbone style setup 8)

McGill does the 1/2" lh female rod ends you're looking for, he also sells studded joints suitable for replacing the outer track rod ends, these will give you an easy way to do small amount of shimming to dial out bumpsteer.

Hi
I recommend Mcgill to those who buy the new top arm kit
from me. Unfortunately I cannot attach jpg to show.
The old track rods can be used with female rod ends
or Mcgill can supply connecting pieces to use male
ends.
