 Re: Who bought this then.........
No it doesn't have any documents at all bit I did find a chassis plate off of a 1989 Austin metro on it so I've applied for the v5 for that and assume thats the reg it had. Anyone have any idea about the brakes and hubs?

Hi Loz.
I admire you cojones, and if that v5 comes back mentioning anything remotely GTM you are home and dry.
If not, and it still says Austin Metro, you are entering the world of EU regs - which means it won't see the road without an IVA test pass (Not impossible, but difficult and £££'s)
There are ways around it, but most are naughty.
Your best bet would be to trawl around to see if you can find an old photo of it with reg plates on.
I'd stick some std brakes on it for now - they are well capable for normal road use.

 Re: Who bought this then.........
If it comes back as a standard metro I will use it whilst the regs are being sorted. The problem with the brakes is I need a robber setup on the front not Austin so the stud pattern(pcd) is the same as the rear.do you know if rover 100 setup I.e hubs and brakes will bolt up?

Hey Loz. (Hope you are happy being called that)
You would need to be a MOT'er yourself or have blackmail rights over him/her to get it on the road instantly.
I was best man at my MOTers Wedding but he lets me off with nowt.
I'm not being negative per se, but a lot of us have been thru this....

 Re: Who bought this then.........
Hi Loz is fine . I've seen loads of kit cars on the registration of the donor vehicle. I had a nova avante kit car on the bettle registration that was the donor vehicle. It had been like this for many years before i owned it. Why should this be different? The mot shouldn't be a problem as long as the car is at mot standards. Please please can some one answer my question regarding if rover 100 front hubs and brakes will bolt to the mini front end. Regards

 Re: Who bought this then.........
Hi , i think maybe the nova used the beetle chassis (floor pan etc) and retained the original number through it as a body change, the gtm replaces the chassis and body which may make it harder? Probably the best bet for getting it redgistered maybe be to contact the previous owner and the one before and trace it that way. Im pretty sure the 100 brakes will fit but maybe 16vmini site or a mini site would be a good place for confirmation. The vendor did have a set of wheels for it , split rims looked pretty good , on a buy it now for £150 at the time. the rears were 100 size and the front mini . Are you going to return the roof to normal height ? and are you keeping the arches?

Not sure if Rover 100 hubs will fit - the Rover 100 uses a cassette type bearing rather than the two taper roller bearings and I don't know if the two types of hub have the same spigot diameter. Pretty sure you can't fit the complete uprights from the Rover 100 to Mini suspension arms as they have different balljoint types.

 Re: Who bought this then.........
I'll take one of the hubs off and compare it to one of the 100 ones at the scrapyard. The pcd difference between front and rear is making it a pain to find wheels. The roof is a rove 100 item that has been fitted with the sunroof. The arches will be staying as they look awesome and rally esc. I should be doing more work on it tommorow so I will keep you all informed. Cheers

 Re: Who bought this then.........
Rover 100 hubs dont fit as the bottom ball joint is different I therefore brought a set of mini calipers for 8.4 discs. Which i then found didnt fit due to me have a 7.5 inch cooper s setup. If anyone is interested in these front discs and drive flanges for a 7.5 setup as they are for 10 inch wheels please send me a message.
