Post Re: Coilovers
Hi Tim, Sorry for the delay, I have been on holiday. I don't know if you want both front and rears but you can find the info on the forum.
Look under LIBRA/ SPIDA and go to page 3, there you will find the heading SPRING RATE/LENGTH. If you go to the last post you will find the recommendation
Fronts 8" 225lb Rears 8" 300lb.

Just bought a set of fronts shocks from Protec at £228 the pair inc vat
A pair of springs £52.80 inc vat
P &P £12.oo inc vat

A pair of rear shocks will be £300 inc vat
I assume the springs and P&P to be the same.

I hope that this helps. If you are still interested please get in touch.

While at the Silverstone Classic, we had a look at Daves Spider, and the rear coilovers are quite a bit shorter than the Libras.

Hi all,
did anybody fit coilover shocks on the front of a coupe to remove the rubber doughnuts?
Thanks
John

Look here the-jones-coupe-t581-30.html

There's more Coupe coilover info on the forum somewhere. He's cut the tower so the top mount can be moved in to give better geometry, i think if you use the standard top mount it's almost falling spring rate :(

At long last I am pleased to say that Protec can now supply both front and rear shocks for the Libra.
The front shocks require 8" springs while the rear require 10". As far as I know the prices for both
shocks and springs remain as originally quoted by Protec.

Post Re: Coilovers
You may well be right John,
Except that i don't use the Libra in the winter. It gets tucked up in the garage (with the motorbike) as soon as the gritters come out & start spreading the dreaded salt on the roads. I just use the Vectra for december thru to march.
I'll also give the shocks a good coating of ACF50 before i fit them. For anyone who hasn't come across ACF50 before, its what all the biker boys use to protect their pride & joys through winter from corrosion. Brilliant stuff! :D
