Its supposed to be a bit of a nod towards the Lotus Cortina, the lady of the house says it looks like baby sh... I reckon with some door circles and the odd Castrol sticker and it should like quite retro. We will see, al long way to got yet before the paint goes on.

Pin stripe the outer edge of the main stripes with gold, and tie it in with some nice Gold Mambas and a green and gold side sill stripe.

...and change the stripe to red/blue? One of the guys on the MK1 forum posted a doctored photo with the whole back end panel around the rear lights and number plate in green that looked good, wouldn't work with a stripe though, he also coloured the nose up which looked ok. Will keep playing in photoshop.

Re: Just bought 60s Cox GTM project NDB414G
no that wouldn't look right red and blue...YUK!
How about run the stripes around the front rad opening ala 60's racecars?
Or
You could always do a racecar replica, purple on top fading to a lighter silver at the sill level... front panel in silver and the rear panel in silver?....

Great stuff thanks for that. I'm at the NEC classic car show in a few weeks, will keep my eye open for a copy.

How much? .............Its a really good book but.........must look out my copy as a potential pension supplement.
Just goes to show that with limited print run books such as this you have got to buy when its published. I have seen copies at Mini shows much cheaper so hopefully you'll find a reasonable copy at the NEC Andy.
