MGF Radiator in K3?
Will the MGF radiator physically fit under the front of the K3? I need a new radiator and the MGF ones are more plentiful, I don't mind moving mounts around if needs be.

Thanks Matty,
The diesel radiators are a good idea, though seemingly somewhat thinner on the ground than MGF radiators.

Re: MGF Radiator in K3?
Hi Rich, yes the MGF rad does fit under the front of the K3. I have had to slope it forwards at the top but at least you get two fans on most of them, one for cooling and one for air con extra cooling so I will be using that one on a back up switch if needed. I will post a picture next week. On holiday at the moment.

That's good to hear, I'd been hoping there would be room to slope any of the radiators forward as the box directly behind the radiator leaves nowhere for the air to go. A bare radiator would be fine as the car came with a pair of Kenlowes fitted already.

Re: MGF Radiator in K3?
Rich, Here is a picture of an MGF radiator fitted under the front clam of my K3. Although I have made my own front subframe the location is probably easy to bracket off the metro subframe. The bottom edge of the radiator is level with the clam pivot points and it slopes forwards at the top. It clears the clam by a good two inches at the top. I did have a picture somewhere of it in place with the clam down, I will root it out. Peter.

Re: MGF Radiator in K3?
Just as an update, I've now done this for myself and found that I've got the radiator in upright just by adjusting the standard mounts and using alloy cross bars to mount the MGF radiator using it's standard mount points and rubbers.

Re: MGF Radiator in K3?
Hi I'M fitting the mgf radiator to my k3. How much room is the a the front. Can you keep the radiator upright and move the radiator forward by 20mm Or will it hit the front bonet
Paul.

Paul. Hi Paul, Sorry, I missed your post. I kept the radiator upright by lowering the lower mount, basically bolting a length of alloy angle below the mounts and fitting the radiator to that. I cut the top mounts off and made a new one from alloy sheet that fixed to the storage tub. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures with the front off, just this one from the sales thread. You can see the top mounting I made.

Re: MGF Radiator in K3?
If anyone is interested I have TF alloy rad available, off a 2002 TF160. It looks in really good condition. The coolant ran clear. I think they are the same as MGF. It has the electric fan still attached and also the rubber mountings. I'll be putting it on ebay next time there is a fee reduction offer but if anyone is interested let me know.
