 Lower Arm Bushes Hi All,
Can anyone help me, i've got the original GTM lower arms which need new bushes in the ends that join to the rear wheel hub. Anyone know what bushes to use? I was going to fit Mini lower arm ones all round but they are a wee bit big for the hub end. Any ideas?

Re: Lower Arm Bushes I think there's mention of this somewhere on another thread -- opinions seem to vary between MGB or Austin A60 spring eye bushes -- might even be the same as an MGB is an Austin A60 cabriolet.

Re: Lower Arm Bushes I made my own from 1" diameter polyurethane bar.  I have the dimensions here too but these were drawn when I was going to use nylatron.  As you can see from the photo I made them in one piece rather than split and I didn't bother with the flange on the end but the dimensions are the same. They were basically polyurethane copies of the original bushes.

Re: Lower Arm Bushes Suspect the two smaller diameter bushes are innner lower wishbone bushes from triumph herald/spitfire /vitesse family whereby they will be available as plastic - I know the single bush is mini .. regards

Re: Lower Arm Bushes We've just done this job too - we used Mini polyflex bushes turned on a lathe to the right size - they are now a good fit and it has just flown through it's MOT!

Re: Lower Arm Bushes If you use the 1" Polyurethane rod you don't have to machine the O.D. at all. You only have to drill the hole for the bushes.

Re: Lower Arm Bushes Where is the best place to get a rod of Polyurethane???? Tesco don't seem to have any in stock!  I see a foot long rod for £20 online, that a good price?

Re: Lower Arm Bushes This is what I used. http://www.superflex.co.uk/sprods.phpI think I used the 80 shore hardness. I used stainless steel inner sleeves with a little silicone grease on them.

Re: Lower Arm Bushes The Bushes on e-bay look right but I'd check dimensions with the seller first -- in any case if you've access to a lathe the poly bush suggestions are a better route especially for durability.

Re: Lower Arm Bushes I'd just add that it's a good idea to check the actual dimensions of ALL four housings!
Three of mine were one size and the forth was significantly smaller. (they were all less than 1" BTW)
