Has anybody any experience of replacing the steering rack, please?
It appears that the 'boot' needs to be removed. It does not seem to be fixed in any way and putting the jack under it seems to move it, although I have not tried to take it out completely. There is the pain of removing all the battery and fuse box connections if it has to be taken out completely - if you lift up a few inches can you get to the rack? Thanks for any help.

I did look (briefly) and it looked like the rack was between the sub-frame and the tub.

I found the slack I had was the UJ that sits between your feet at the bottom of the steering column, so I think I got lucky

The front boot box is not fixed in it just needs to be pulled out it does however need to be angled to get it out can not remember which way forwards or backward.This should then give accsess to the fixing for the rack I think it is held in with two U bolts over the rack and fixed through the subframe.
