Some incar from Xmas stages & Jack frost stages at Croft race circuit.

You will notice the GTM doesn't handle very well on ice & slush on the xmas stages! But we finished a
lowly 53rd overall.

Apologies for the language at the finish of the jack frost stage 2 but we had just took 20+ secs off our previous stage time and were lying 8th overall & 3rd in class! Unfortunately we retired with a blown clutch.

I enjoyed that........keep em coming!

Brilliant videos -- keep 'em coming. Looked like some really hairy moments at Croft not helped by the out of sorts motor -- that pit lane armco looked soooooo close!
Out of interest what tyres were you using? -- didn't seem to handle standing water at all well

Sorry guys I am the electrician in the crew, so all I know is they are black and round! We have some cut wets but the compound is so hard we under steer on tight corners. We bought some softer compound cut slicks & we were using these on Ottrburn & at Croft. Not good in deep puddles but spot on in dry or drying conditions.

I think the 2 ltr red top has throttle bodies fitted.

Are there any clear pics of the arse end of this coupe?

I'm very tempted to do something similar. I used to do a lot of marshalling and keep meaning to take a trip to epynt to look at some coupes in the flesh but whenever there's a rally on i havent got the energy to get out of bed so early! The other reason is that I used to have a WRX impreza which was great fun when marshalling, my current pug207 doesnt fire up the same enthusiasm. lol.

Ingliston stages 2011- lying 5th overall we dropped & finished 11th overall after an excursion through a bush.
Misting of the windscreen was horrendous!

Up date on our rally exploits!

Christmas stages on 2 Jan 2012 at Croft. Bit of an eventful rally!! Stage 2 we blew a rear drive shaft cv joint again. Recovered out of stage with a maximum time and repaired the drive shaft. Continued and set 7th fastest time on stage 4. Stage 5 a wheel bearing collasped and we limped out of stage again with a stage max. Repaired the wheel bearing and continued setting some top 10 times to finally finish 46 overall. Not good final position but the stage times when the GTM was running well were very good!

Jack frost stages on 22 Jan 2012 at Croft - with new drive shafts and the ride height increased we hoped for some better reliability. The day would be totally different to the rally 3 weeks earlier. Seeded 29th, after stage 1 we were lying 14 th overall and that was after a spin in front of the Grandstands. Stage 2 we posted 3rd fastest & by the lunch halt we were up to 10th overall. Committed to the corners we were starting to melt the front tyres. On the first corner of stage 5 we understeered into some tyres due to the loose rubber on the front tyres. Once we had scrubbed this off the grip was outstanding. So for every stage after this we would scrub the tyres to remove the marbles and then by the 5 th corner the tyre were nice & grippy. We moved up to 9th overall and 3rd in class by the end of the rally.
