Rollcage. Inputs needed
I am hoping to get a T45 rollcage made up. Is anyone else interested as this should bring the costs down? If so what sort of design would people be interested in?

Re: Rollcage. Inputs needed
I would be interested as my car is currently still being put together so installing a cage now would be easier. I don't know too much about cages but personally I won't be taking part in any motorsport so I wouldn't require a motorsport spec cage, so the less intrusive the better for me. Bolt in rather than weld in if possible other than that I'll leave it to the experts Rob

Hi Rob, Sounds like you just want a roll over bar similar to what GTM used to offer, it bolted to the rear bulkhead and the floor behind the seats, a full cage is intrusive John

Re: Rollcage. Inputs needed
Yeah I guess a cage is always intrusive, I just meant not one that has additional bars like this one below. (although it looks really great) If that kind of cage minus the central bar could be made i'd be interested. ie the roll over bar attached to a front hoop via the roof and low accross the doors. I already have a roll over bar and to be honest the flat area that bolts to the floor is around 2 inch sqaure and it seems really flimsy like if you did roll over it would just punch itself through the floor. It's almost like its just for show really.

The diagonal bar to the passenger footwell is a bolt in, I have a similar cage from Protection & Performance and did not fit that tube. Cheers John

I used to compete in that car and the central diagonal bar was not in it when i bought it , nor when I sold it.

Re: Rollcage. Inputs needed
I'd be interested in a cage similiar to the ppc design, not so keen on the diagonal like others have said. I'd also like a dash bar running across at the front and a rear harness bar. Weld in, not bolt in cage.
David, was your car msa registered? Did you ever have issues with scrutineering? As i notice the cage doesn't have any rear backstays?
How much was the cage if you don't mind me asking John/David?
Thanks James.

Re: Rollcage. Inputs needed
My P+P cage was a kit of pre-bent tubes which I brought back to Nigeria to assemble and weld, the kit cost approximately gbp350 Cheers John

Thanks James. James, The car had an MSA logbook. I never had any problems with scrutineering. It does actually have some backstays, there are photos on this website when rollcages last cropped up. The cage was already in the car when I bought it and I sold it last year to a member of this club - who I am sure will confirm the price since he now has the invoice among the paperwork I supplied with the car. My recollection is that it was about £700, supplied and fitted. David

Re: Rollcage. Inputs needed
Yes it is the one I owned although the first picture with the flat dash I do not recognise. It is difficult for me to "date" some of the photos you have included.
It was built (very well) by Frogracer and his father; I bought it from a dealer about 6 years ago and sold it to another club member last year, just after I bought a Radical PR6. David

Re: Rollcage. Inputs needed
I can post updates soon, as I own David's car now. Currently in London so a few miles from the records. The dash was a quick mot modification to keep the tester happy.

Re: Rollcage. Inputs needed
If you could Ken, that'd be great, maybe some close-ups of the rear back stays and how they're secured.
I've tried emailing ppc but haven't got a response yet, time to give them a call I think.

Re: Rollcage. Inputs needed
The advantage of PPC is they have done one before and having kept the records of lengths and bend angles don't need your car to be there as other cage makers would I found my kit of pipes need very little tweaking to fit John
