Post Started modelling
Hello all
No, I am not off to Milan fashion week...
Went over to get the rear suspension off my GTM on the weekend, and also did some measuring. most of it is quite easy to do but the front is a bit more tricky, mainly because the floor to front bulkhead junction is rusted away! may need some help with that bit, quite pleased with progress in Solidworks considering it is only 2 evenings work.

Looks nice.
Did you measure it or did you get the dimensions somewhere?
How thick is the sheet?

Mine is done In NX and sheet metal meaning I can unfold it for templates, Modelling all the joged edges and getting the split lines to work for drop down seat pans so that they are foldable has been bit fiddly

Nice model, I have got a fair bit done now. I got a bit stuck with where the floorpan meets the front bulkhead but TURBOCOX helped me out with some dims last night. Unfortunately mine has rusted away! should be able to do a lot over xmas hopefully.

Getting my head around the triangular transition from bulkhead to tunnel caused a bit of thinking due to the tunnel walls not being vertical. Getting it to model in sheet metal was a bit of a pain but it unfolds on the computer now, need to add a couple more details and tidy the flange transitions a little.

The front wheel wells should be fun!

When I measured up my chassis to make my GRP replacement I found that very few side to side and diagonal measurements were the same so I found myself taking a lot of averages.
