Post Steering Column to Rack
Hey All, after fighting with my gears last week it is now time to move onto the steering column. I think it is a dolomite column i have however the rack is a mini one. Both end in splined ends. Is there a joint or other method of attaching these two together? If so where can I purchase them? I've googled it but since i'm not really sure what part i'm looking for i don't know if i'm getting anywhere.

Cheers
Marty

I stuck a copy of the build manual here.
http://www.scribd.com/doc/14462882/Build-Manual

Which says:-
Quote:
There are 2 universal joints on the Dolomite Column. Disregard the longer one connected to the column. but use the smaller one (Rubberised) to connect the column spine to the steering rack

Pic on page 26.

In my opinion you are better off using one of the actual needle roller UJ's instead of the rubber coupling and my advice would be to use the forged steel coupling rather than the pressed steel one.

They are more compact that the rubber coupling and much longer lasting.
