 Elise gearshift into Libra
Does anyone have any details/information on fitting the elise gearshift system into the Libra. I currently have a 1.8vvc/pg1 with rattle rods which gives me the slowest and vaguest gear change I've ever encountered and a sharp contrast to the MX5 gearchange I've been used to.
Regards BV.

You can fit the MGF cable change without to much hassle. Thanks Matty

Hi Matty, I seem to remember you were looking at this. Did you do this and how well does it work. I've heard some reports its not much better? I need to do something as the russian roulette change is driving me nuts Cheers BV

 Re: Elise gearshift into Libra
I fitted the mgf cables as I put PG1 gearbox in to replace a metro one although I never drove the car with the metro box and rod change. MGF cables seem to work fine to me.Although I have just had to replace one as the cable snapped. I am sure there are a couple of libras using elise gearchange but think there is a bit more work involved. Matty

Hi Matty, Did you use the MGF front part (gear lever end)?. Where did your cable snap? seems cables snapping on mgf's in not uncommon though I plan to get cables made the same place Roger did for his car as the place is quite close to me. Cheers BV

 Re: Elise gearshift into Libra
Did not use the MGF front mounting bracket purchased the unit from GTM but after seen both I see no reason why the MGF one could not be cut down and modified to fit. Cable broke right next to the rear end where it has the end crimped on. Matty

 Re: Elise gearshift into Libra
I think i may have the brackets you need. They were supplied as part of the Libra kit. I did not use them, because ia have a Honda engine and gearbox. So it was easier to make new brackets than modifiy the one supplied tp fit my gearbox. If the want brackets or more informationn please let me know.

 Re: Elise gearshift into Libra
I have seen a build site for gtm spyder were they had replaced parts of mgf change with a kit from Mike Satur that replaces the plastic bushes that wear that cause play in the linkage but don't know how good or bad it was . I have done the lever end using modified mgf and gtm parts.
