Hi
I'm looking to install MGF rear calipers and 8.4" discs on the rear of my coupe, I see that a few people have done this and seek advice.
Is there a specific year or model of MGF rear caliper to go for?
Can the existing handbrake cables be used or do I need to make up a new set.

Thanks
Paul

I haven't seen a different rear caliper on any MGF - that doesn't mean it's adfinitive "no" but I believe it was only the fronts that changed over the production lifespan.

You probably could use th MGF handbrake cables but the fitting at the handbrake end is different to the Mini. I made mongrel cables from the existing Morris Minor cables that fit the Mini handbrake (and were already on my car) plus some parts of the MGF cables (at the caliper end). It's probably six and two threes whether this was easier than fitting the MGF handbrake handle and using the MGF cables complete or not.
