Hi Paul, yes that will make a difference, if not I can get the pedal arms laser cut in 8mm steel for you to bend and weld the tube into. All I did was heat up then bend in a vice. I then cut off the pedal pads from the old pedals and then welded them on to give me the slightly longer jobbies.
Peter.

Post Re: Brake Upgrade for K3
hi thanks Peter when i checked how long my break pedal was it was a round
185 to 60 ish

Image

its not too far from what i need i just need to shorten the 60 to 50.
it would be nice to have a pedal wich did not have a weld in the middle. But gtm did the weld and its been in the car for a long time and has not broken yet.
I'm changing how much force is on the pedal

my clutch pedal is not to far from what i need

Image

but i think i might have to move the master cylinder back 10mm to line up as when the car was converted from the cable they made the pedal 180 to 50 wich would now make it not line up with the pedal as it is 10mm back too it is also welded up too but i think the force on that would be ok

hope this makes sense
paul

Hi Paul, when I did mine I also re located the pivot hole in the pedal box to make it line up rather than move the cylinder.

hi sorry i should have put move the cluch master cylinder
i have re located the pivot hole in the pedal box too
but as the brake and cluch are on the some shaft it has moved the cluch back too
as the clutch pedal is only 50mm cutting it to 40mm to line up i think would be too much
so i would have to only move the slave cylinder for the clutch back 10mm

i made a jig thing up so when i removed the shaft i could see where to put the new hole
i filed the hole in with some steal and redrilled the hole in the new position

Thanks to all for your input. I guess a good starting point is to check over what I have now and make sure everything is working, although the car does seem to be in pretty good order.

I've had someone offer me a set of MGF calipers, new vented discs, fluid and a seal kit for a good price. Might be worth getting it anyway and if I don't need it I can always pass it on.

I'm interested in your pedal box mod....do we all have the same pedal box or was there options on the donor cars?

If I were you I would start by checking that the current system is working correctly then I would bleed new fluid through the entire system. Finally I would try something like EBC Green stuff pads.
