Has anyone else got 8" springs on the rear of their Libra. Do they look this short?
I've been told these are 350lb & (possibly) 8".

Mine are 10" on the rear and go about halfway up the preload thread.

I had my shocks rebuilt by AVO plus new springs like I said, given my problems with AVO springs in hindsight I should have bought new shocks from elsewhere like Protech and I would go 10" all round (have 8" on front ATM).

Post Re: GTM Libra spring rates
Hi Sven
I have read on this forum that the longer GTM Libra AVO springs bow under compression and possibly cause knocking , I have not experience this myself .
Even good quality long coil over springs can still flex but should not cause rubbing of the shock absorbers body or cause any knocking. Have progressive bump stops been fitted or possibly just hard shore rated limit stops ? You should have about 70mm bump and 70 mm rebound travel can this be measured with your setup?

Setting the dampers to hard can cause a lot of knocking noises from worn suspension components and transmit unecessary noise into the body structure.

The last 20% of the spring compression can increase the spring rate
dramatically when getting closer to coil binding which can have some undesirable effects .

GTM designed the rears to have another 10mm extra bump travel , thats why they fitted the longer 10" rear spring compared to the fronts is my understanding.

Thanks for the comments & suggestions.

Had a quick look today & can confirm mine are 350 lb and 8".
Need a bit more investigation before i decide wether to change them or to leave alone!
