Post Front clam/bonnet very close to tyre
Been getting a little bit of wheel rub on my front clam shell at high lock, it's always done it but with the current parking arrangements at my house it's particularly bad as need to slalom my way in.

From the picture, it looks like it's dropped but the mounting point only has 2-3mm play, which rules that out. Tempted to make another plate with a lower hole (to raise the front of the clam) to see if that helps but wondered if anyone has any experience with this and if there is a better way as there doesn't seem to be much more movement so will likely need to move the pivot point.

Thanks! :D

Slightly concerned now. I have just looked at mine to see that the near side is very similar to yours (25mm at front). However the offside is near enough central. I made my own subframe so I know that both sides are dead equal and I have made fully adjustable clam pivots so there is plenty of movement. My worrying conclusion is that the body tub mounting points are not symmetrical. I will look at my photo's from when it had a metro subframe and see if it is the same.
Peter.

Oops I forget to mention its only bad on the left so That ties up with my car too., Mine is far worse on the left than on the right (15-20mm on the left and 40-45mm on the right) so does sound like the problem is with the chassis rather than a bent subframe (which was my other thought)

Thought so. Looking at the original pictures of my K3 with the metro supframe as you can see near side very close, offside fairly middle.
I will measure up the car and mounting points just to be awkward, I dont think there is any room to move the subframe back on the near side but I will have a think.
Peter.

The yellow one looks like the rear clam on mine, open at the top and tight at the bottom.

I'm going to give making a new plate a go tomorrow as I only need 5mm or so to stop it rubbing, but strange that it affects two of us so similarly but there is no mention of anyone else having the same issue with the fronts?

I'm pretty sure my subframe isn't bent as spent a fir amount of time checking it this morning - there were a few 1-2mm differences side to side, but I'm aware rover never had the highest QC standards so not concerned.

Welcome to the world of fibreglass cars especially kit cars. I would not be too surprised that they are all different side to side, The coupe has front arches are different side to side, It even mentions it in the build manual. Feature not a flaw
