I have made a small cover for the hole a bit of black paint and I think it will look ok

It is isn't it, I wish now I'd kept the dash out of the MGF I stripped last year, having problems catching the dash with my knee on the Metro one fitted

Mine just has fibreglass panels, do you have the measurements for the roll bar, possibly more images of where you picked the fixing points up from?

Strange what has happened to that vinyl cloth. I guess it is not UV stable and the sun has damaged it but surprising it would happen so quickly as wasn't that a fairly recent re-trim? The vinyl on my Spyder door cards and dash is still fine after 16 years but the car has always been garaged so only sees the sun when it comes out to play so maybe that is a factor.

Hi i don't have any sizes for the roll bar what I did was to make a pat
ton from some 15mm copper pipe to make sure that it would fit with the hard top and soft top on

Image

I made a goal post-shaped roll bar I then welded some square feet to the bottom.
the car had a roll bar at some point in the past Someone one had cut holes
In the front of the big square box on the tub so I could just get a bolt into the hole to fix the feet to the tub

Image

The bars that run to the back pick up the torque tub bolts from the engine bay
They were made with the main bar in place as the tub was a different shape
On each side

Image

Made to fit my car

My car is also in a garage and only comes out in the sun I think I will see if i can get the company that did the job to have a look and see what they say
