I guess it doesn't have the same access as the coupe - solid continuous bulkhead twixt engine and cockpit. Access really is terrible.

Rolling road session would be good - but only on a good RR with a good operator - and someone who knows hot minis.

Still not doing too well  Replacement leads and rotor arm bought - Number one plug lead in the set is too short (need to re-time so No1 position on the distributor is nearer no 1 plug) and the rotor arm had the little sprung metal part for a firm location missing. Both from halfrauds - where I shall be returning them.

 I've only gone and done the engine - giving it full beans a 4000 rpm in 4th gear and I heard a small bang and it's rattling like a good'n :(

I've located a 1300 A+metro engine and shall be doing a transplant soon - I assume the engine does lift out through the top? It looks tight.

Engine came with ancilinaries (sp?) so i've got A+ electronin ignition distributor and coil. Anything else I need to be aware of?

Regards,

Allen

What went wrong on the engine? Have you had time to have a look?

No, not removed the lump or stripped it yet - putting a cooking 1300 in for the moment - but the loss of power and rapidly worsening rattly noise sounded expensive

Didn't seem to be smoking. There's no hole in the side of the block  and it was fine coasting so not driveshaft or gearbox. No oil light but may have been down a little on oil pressure. A strip down will reveal.

Post Re: Rossa Mk 2
I have a Rossa MK2 for sale if anyone is interested.

It was built by my father who passed away after about 3/4 complete. I paid someone else to finish it off and ha it on the road for about 1 month in total as I was unable to keep up the repairs. It has been garaged since.

It is cream in colour and has the MG Metro 1275turbo engine fitted. Alloy wheels.

I started it successfully a few weeks ago.

Radiator burst but there is a brand new one there to be fitted.

It has a Y plate rather than a Q plate for some reason.

I will post some pictures shortly. Anyone interested cmclay@csc.com

I'm looking for about £2250

cheers

Colin McLay

Hi Sals Colin,

Think you'd be better posting in the for sale section - have to say that compared to what i've seen sold you are probably asking a bit much.

Regards,

Allen
