For the end of Ramadan we have had a long weekend holiday (and several bombs let off in churches and a mosque ) so more time to get on the lathe and milling machine preparing suspension lower arms, i made sure I had plenty of jobs to keep me busy over the holiday John

 Re: Kano Coupe
I now have an old Cox style vee in the front of my chassis, still testing local welders to see if anyone can weld an aluminium tank for me, or I have to get it made in the UK and carry back I have also chopped out the flat floor panels and am replacing with 1.5mm aluminium sheet, wish I had an air pop rivet gun The list of jobs gets bigger before it will get smaller John

 Re: Kano Coupe
Sunday was a long day starting at 3.00am watching the MotoPG live from Japan, followed by PU foam filling, a layer of glass fibre and Isopon filler to smooth out the bumps, I’ve now removed the bonnet groove intended to fit a Mini bumper, luckily I ran out of the filler I had brought back with me in May, just as the arms on my mk1 human orbital sander were about to drop off!! Next I have to see if the local suppliers have any similar polyester filler to complete the job. John

 Re: Kano Coupe
I wish somebody could come up with the history of my pile of bits, the chassis, rear A frame suspension and subframes were very much used if not well put together, but the body had never been attached, still with mould parting line flashes and never having been drilled for fixing bolts or lights, anybody know where/ who it came from?? Colin47 told me he got it from a chap in North Wales who had it in his garage un-built for about 30 years!! During my ownership of my old Cox GTML129 never saw another on the road, the only Coupes I saw were Ian Gorries very low blue GTM at Oulton Park and at several race meetings Ken Haywood’s purple Cox with the big boxy arches, I did get to chat with Ken at Silverstone on one occasion. I saw a red 1293 coupe, unregistered, race prepared with 2 young chaps (by my standard) a car breakdown transporter and 2 mechanics at Curborough around 1983 – 84, but they were a bit stand offish and regarded my road going car as a lesser item, happily for me although in a road modified class I was considerably quicker than their car and I never saw them out again, I heard Ian Gorries GTM was written off, but I wonder how many of these old race cars still exist today and where are they hiding?

 Re: Kano Coupe
Iain's Cox, was badly damaged, which wrote off the original early COX tub. So he bought a replacement chassis from Paddy and Peter. So although it is a early Cox, albeit a very modified one, it now has a GTM Coupe 80's chassis. It still exists, and I'm trying to save my pennys for it
