Re: r 1 coupe I have a stripped out track car, a motorbike engined coupe with a space framed back end and it weighs a depressingly heavy 650kg.
I compete against cars that weigh 350-400kg with similar motorbike engines. Hence I added a turbocharger which certainly evened things up dramatically, until an exhaust valve broke following, I guess, a collision between the valve and the piston!
I am currently in the early stages of rebuilding the engine with forged pistons and Carrillo con rods. This set up should give me the best part of 300bhp - hopefully reliably.

Re: r 1 coupe On 19th June we are going to catch an overnight ferry from Portsmouth which sails at 11/00pm - we are going to Le Mans - don't know where you are but if you are in Hampshire we must be travelling in the right direction?
I would really like to look at this set up - it may solve a potential problem for me.
