Re: Let the Journey Begin
I reckon heat is the right way forward on that. Maybe a few cycles of heat/cool/heat and then plenty of heat and a drift and hammer and it'll come right out.
Good luck and remember the hide gloves!

Re: Let the Journey Begin
Tried heat & hammer but got nowhere, got it on it's way to cherry red if you turned the workshop light off.
So plan B was drill it out which in the end didn't go too bad, started with a 3mm
Bit of slippage
Pulled it back a little with the 5mm
Then straightened it up with the 8mm
Now the question is do I cut the bolt & weld the end as previous or drill split pin through the pin
Also is there any reason not to put a bracing bar across the lugs to stop the spraining apart?

Re: Let the Journey Begin
Hi Sorry I may be a bit late but I have the hinges in stock. They are the same as Rossa 1 & 2.

Re: Let the Journey Begin
LOL, yeah wish you'd replied yesterday as I bought some steel to make new pins & new drills to do the other hinges, but as a matter of interest how much are they? As new may still be an option, although I was considering modifying them to add a grease nipple.
I've tried to find your details before & failed.

Re: Let the Journey Begin
Sorry you couldn't find me. Rossabitz has been going for 20 years and I thought most owners knew me. Maybe newer owners don't. I sell Rossa 1 & 2 and a few K3 spares. The hinges are £30 each and I have a few left from the last batch. I probably won't restock as the cost will have increased and having small batches made is expensive. As with most of the spares, if you have the facilities you can make or repair them yourself. If you want hinges please email me for my bank details.

Re: Let the Journey Begin
Couple of questions, I thought the K3 used the Rover 114 K series group of cars, I only ask as I'm trying to figure out a wiper problem which I will come to in a minute, but the wiring to the wiper motor is not Rover 114 colours, but Austin Metro colours, I have both manuals & the colours match the Metro.
So the wiper problem in detail, the stalk has 4 positions but 5 functions which appear to be
1. Off 1a. Pull to get a swipe 2. Intermittent 3. Slow 4. Fast
However all I have is in position 2. Slow but with no park, is this normal, I did wonder if the park is now not in the right place this has been disabled?

Re: Let the Journey Begin
Once again Thank you, do you know where unit 382 lives, wondering if that has been removed.

Re: Let the Journey Begin
Brilliant, I had that out the other to rehang the drivers door, never noticed a relay, but then again I wasn't looking for one, so it may or may not be there, I also have a MGF harness & box somewhere so that one might be the same if it's missing.

Re: Let the Journey Begin
So spend most of this afternoon tracing wires & proving things through, got really frustrated as everything should have logically worked, my wiring is definitely different to yours, it follows these colours, where 30 is the motor, 73 the relay, 49 the switch & 44 the washer
Upshot is, pretty sure it's the stalk that is faulty, I cleaned all the terminals & at different times I had everything working, but only by twisting & turning the stalk as I had it on a setting. Before I take it apart I'll see if I can another one the sequence appears to be from the top
1. Fast 2. Slow 3, Off 4. Intermittent
This what I need if somebody has a box of spares
