No baffles in the sump and I think I've lost a big end shell most likely due to oil starvation whilst cornering. Won't be fixed in time for Stoneleigh and doesn't seem right to come up without a kit car, plus I'll need the time to investigate the repair. I've put out a message on KitNet.uk (a new forum site intended to link clubs together but currently mainly SW based) to see if any of the guys local to me who are going to Stoneleigh can take the cable up with them...

Dry sump it after the rebuild I got back to Kano at 5.30 this morning, 30c when they opened the door, I'll see if i can find out where I gat the system fabricated and if they still exist? I turned up at Stoneleight with a L-R 110 with GTMOC stickers on the screen Cheers John

 Re: Kano Coupe
Hi Grizzla, Having wracked my brain I think my exhaust was made by Intek Engineering and Fabrications T 01604 765555 in the mid 1980's it was a one off and my car was with them for a few day when they fabricted it, they were working on mostly classic sports and race cars. I would be most surprised if they still have records or drawings of it after all this time, If you are really interested I could measure it up and make a drawing?
John

Having had another look at that manifold I wonder whether its adapted from a Spridget part.

 Re: Kano Coupe
Worth looking at a spridget LCB, the silencer used on mine was the middle box from a V12 E type Jag John

 Re: Kano Coupe
Thanks for the brain wracking john, I was looking at a A35/A40 one as the mini version is too far back by the time you get to the end of the "Y" http://www.maniflow.co.uk/index.php?vie ... oduct=1146It is nice and compact. I hadn't got as far as the silencer so that is good to know!

 Re: Kano Coupe
As long as you're not using the mechanical fuel pump then you are ok.
The mini based units are designed to clear the pump.

 Re: Kano Coupe
I used a mini LCB cut and shut so that the Y piece is at 90deg to the centre line of the car with the pipe running under the right hand subframe leg. As well as being a bit of a 3 dimensional jig saw this does have 2 technical issues:
1. the pipe under the subframe leg does limit ground clearance 2. one of the pipes -- the centre pipe I think -- needs to be extended by about 2 inches using a sleeve I bought from the local parts shop which I think screws up the pulse tuning -- not that I've noticed!
One other thing worth doing is to mount the silencer on to the powertrain unit rather than the subframe so that it all rocks with the engine -- avoids stressing the system leading to a physical failure.

 Re: Kano Coupe
I was thinking that going under the subframe would be a bad idea, give that I will be lowering in as much as allowed. The in-line LCB is definitely looking the favourite
