Re: Kano Coupe
Sod law strikes again, 1 step forward and 3 back, filled with water to check my electric circulation fan and the rad that came with body & chassis peed all over the ground from several places, I'm guessing its a metro rad so that is even less common than a GTM here, I will be asking all in the works car park to open bonnets to let me see if I can find a 'jap' car alternative. Re: Kano Coupe
Original was from an Austin Allegro. But I remember someone fitting a vw one.
Is there no one local that can re-core it.

Re: Kano Coupe
I had a Golf rad in the back of my twinny Mini but almost same width and height, so would need to be angled much more to go in the space

Re: Kano Coupe
Here we have a good supply of eggs, don't really like repaired rads especially when several holes like mine, could easily lose an expensive engine. John

Re: Kano Coupe
I tried a Golf Mk 3 one in mine and it is too wide, I am going for a Fiat Cinquecento/Seicento one. Though I suspect they are not too plentiful in Kano...

Re: Kano Coupe
Almost as rare as GTM Coupe's If I can't find anything similar to adapt, I will get Jedi to make an alli one for me, they buy the cores in then weld up the end caps, outlets and fixing lugs to whatever you want, I was looking at a nice Serk alli one on a small Perkins genset at work, but its just a tad too long and would not fit inside the outer legs of the front subframe John

Re: Kano Coupe
Might be worth a quick ebay for these rads as you can get the sizes off the adverts but these are close to fitting and are jap
Mr2 aw11 or sw20 or celica

Re: Kano Coupe
I was measuring up rads in our car park this morning assorted Honda's and a Toyota Carolla, but all too long around 26"-27" the rad that leaks is about 23" and goes between the subframe side rails, MR2's and Celica's are not common here, big SUV's are the weapon of choice with rich Nigerians, or little shopping trolleys for the poorer ones, I could temp fit my golf rad or have a new mini one in my box of bits just to get it running and tested. Re: Kano Coupe
Didn't the original Cox have a Mini one tipped on it's side?

Re: Kano Coupe
It did, that was how my old Cox was with its original 998 single car engine, but when I fitted a big bore 1426 "S" engine changed to R16 Renault rad that just fitted across the front subframe as if made to measure. I'm not sure a Mini rad is enough to cope with my 1400 on 45 DCOE carb in our hot climate but i will do to start sorting it out until I find a local alternative or bring a rad back next year When I used a Mini with big bore front engine here with a standard alongside rad, I always used a small supplementary rad mounted in the front alongside an oil cooler.
