I have to use the flexible rack and wheel box, my tank would get in the way to use push rods

This is the one I looked at when I was thinking of swapping, but found some normal straight ones on a Landrover in the scrap yard for free.
The tapered ones are fitted the later TD5 defenders but I never found one.

Hi Ken, I've got the wheel boxes, rack and motor here in Kano, I have a td5 Defender as my tow barge in the UK, but never looked at its wiper arms, will do in late Sept when I'm back

Brain picking time again, I'm needing a wash and 2 speed wipe switch, in my old Cox incarnation I used a rotary switch and 2 speed wiper motor out of a scrap 3lt Rover, I'm guessing later Coupes fitted Metro switches, anybody got one under the bench they don't want? it's wrestling with multi coloured spaghetti time!

Think I have a set of dip/main beam/indicator and Horn, along with Wipers on the other side, that clamp around the steering column, somewhere in the garage.
The sort that was fitted to most British cars of the time

Will look tonight.

Good news and bad news

Good news I've found it and the wiper stalk works.

Bad new is the headlight stalk has melted, I guess from feeding halogen bulbs with no relay :(

Hi Ken thanks for the good and bad news  I have a Peugeot switch for the indicators & lights if your wiper switch can be removed from the mounting plate ie 2 separate switched on one plate I could use it, are you going to Stoneliegh? or tell me what you want for it + postage and send to Northampton
Cheers

I decided to remove the broken part, as it forms part of the pivot and a cover as well.

If you PM me an address I'll get it posted.
Don't worry about costs, as one of your fellow countrymen has promised me a significant share of a large sum of money,
in return for a small up-front payment. Just waiting on the bank transfer to come thru.

Hi Ken, you have PM and many thanks for your generous offer, my fellow Nigerian keeps making me the same offer to lace a little slush money into his account so that he can get funds from his late father, brother, uncle or cousin's frozen account in some far off and little known place  it's not just you lot in the far north of Scotland, do you come south at all? it will be a rush but I plan to be at the GTM stand on 1st May if I can get loaded in time I will bring my Jedi it it could be my 1st drive since September 2015 off the trailer and onto the GTM club stand

Was hoping to make Blydon Park on the Sunday, but will need Sat/Monday to travel down.

But as the car isn't MOTed yet it's still just a hope.

I have not posted for a while, not because I've done nothing but not a lot to show for the efforts worthy of a picture  My wiring loom had to be cut and shut some bits of it not needed others to short or long because its now LH drive, uncle Kens donated wash & wiper switch is wired in and the Peugeot headlight switch is wired in with relays, Last weekend was a long holiday for the end of Ramadan which was a big help to get thing sorted, I took out the front subframe to replace my rack wedge blocks with some of Allen RossaBits wedgies with proper U bolts not my home made codged up jobbies, I also took the plunge and fitted 2 universal joints into the steering column to get a better alignment.
Next question what turn and side lights (Metro ??) were used on later coupes and has anybody got a pair for sale
John
